Painting, oil on panel, depicting an animated landscape with a lake. The author divides the space into two different portions. The first is a foreground scene and develops entirely on the right side of the panel. It represents the arrival of a boat at a small pier adjacent to ruins now almost completely occupied by dense vegetation. The second scene occupies the left and represents the lake with boats in the distance and the coast. The two spaces contrast in colors and light. The forest, in fact, is characterized by dark tones in various shades of green, while the lake, the coast in the distance, and the sky are represented with very light pigments to emphasize the light and heat of the day.
The painter, not of very high pictorial refinement, but still not a beginner, has managed to give the work pleasant contrasts and brightness, making the work pleasant and lively.
Painting signed and dated 1896.
Presented in a contemporary frame, re-gilded.
