"Sociétaire des Artistes Français" since 1887, he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon. We cite "Ajoncs en Bretagne" [Gorse in Brittany] Description: The painting depicts an elegant lady walking in a street of Montmartre under the admiring gaze of a young man. The woman is painted from behind and seems to walk away, leaving the viewer intrigued. The rosy light of sunset that pervades the entire painting creates a very evocative atmosphere.
