Museum-quality and precious
Rolo inlaid dodecagonal table,
in solid walnut and various wood inlays,
dating back to the first half of the 19th century
in the full Restoration period.
The structural characteristics are those of this period,
round top shape with a convex dodecagonal profile,
with a turned column stem,
which still recalls Empire style types,
with a cup motif and superimposed ring protrusions.
A wide molded groove
divides it from the base, also turned.
The three supports, connected laterally,
have a curl ending.
The surface of the top,
characterized by a sgraffito motif,
that reproduces Napoleon on horseback,
saluting, moving away,
the whole surrounded by celebrating dancers.
Some signs of peace achieved,
appear on the Imperial steed,
such as the dove, with the classic olive branch,
and the saddlebag with the Napoleonic coat of arms,
which surmounts the one with the Habsburg coat of arms.
Delicate and gratifying,
the shaped railing motif.
Found in excellent condition
in a superb amber first patina.
Viewing and possible collection on site are welcome.
